Because we hold our professionalism at a high
standard, please keep the following in mind:
1. PROMPTNESS - You should be fifteen (15)
minutes early to every call.
2. APPEARANCE - How you are dressed and your
hygiene
3. APTITUDE - Do you have the ability to follow
direction?
4. SOCIALIZATION - Can you get along with
your co-workers?

Before you work
Know the procedures to make yourself available for work.
Know how to fill out paperwork PROPERLY.
Know what tools are REQUIRED.(It’s always good to have all tools in your car)
Know the EXPECTATIONS of your job.
Know what to expect from the Local.
Know that you MUST be able to lift 50lbs independently.
Tools:
Hammer (13oz)
Tape Measure (25’)
Crescent Wrench (8”)
Pocket Knife
Flashlight (Not Phone)
Gloves
Pliers
Screwdrivers (Flat & Phillips)
Hard Hat
(Not having the proper tools can result in a fine and/or expulsion)
Know where to go: plan your route, know where to park and your entrance to venue.
Know the Dress Code.
Know who the on-site contact or Job Steward is.
You are due to your call fifteen (15) minutes early, unless instructed to be earlier
Put your cell phone on silent before the start of your work call.
Finish all personal business - Get a drink of water, put away your belongings and be ready to work at the start time of the call.
ONLY the Business Agent or Dispatcher can replace you on a call that you have previously committed to.
Keep your phone close and your voicemail clear so that you can receive early morning/last minute dispatch calls and messages.
Dress Code:
When in doubt - go with black collared shirt, black pants and black shoes (preferably steel toed).
No torn pants, tattered shirts or
obscene or offensive pictured t-shirts.
“SHOW BLACKS” - means long sleeve
black shirts, black pants, and black shoes.
Coat and ties may be requested (black).
